Thank you to all for your support at this year’s 26^th Annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in downtown Houston. The event was filled with high energy and the team representing Westside Surgical Hospital including its volunteers, its superheroes and its exhibition left a lasting mark on the occasion and helped spread awareness about our hospital’s operations and about the fight for breast care and awareness with a positive touch.

Centered on this year’s superhero theme and in honor of heroes who have fought breast cancer in their own ways, Westside Surgical Hospital, and its superheroes in particular, was featured on a number of news broadcasts over the weekend, and through the day itself, our volunteers were able to capture the audience handing out all of our materials, including bracelets, dog tags, post cards for the Westside Breast Center and  superhero masks. Hundreds of people also joined our superheroes and took photos in front of the Westside Surgical Hospital banner and around the event. Over 20,000 people participated in this year’s walk, including 2,400 survivors, and I believe that we had the most active exhibition.

We  also wanted to thank our superheroes for leaving such positive memories with all of those that visited the Westside Surgical Hospital exhibition. While it was a lot of work to account for hundreds of photographs, everyone left our exhibition with a smile and a refreshing association of the work we do as a hospital and the cause that we were supporting in fighting breast cancer and that is what this is all about.
